This course offers opportunities for students to develop an understanding of food preparation techniques, food products and food and work safety issues for the home kitchen setting. Students work cooperatively in a team environment while developing skills in preparing and presenting dishes and meals for various social, cultural and nutritional needs.

This year students have created a variety of food such as: Perogies, Pizza, Penne with Italian Sausage, Christmas baking, Gingerbread Houses, and Roast Chicken Dinner complete with stuffing and gravy.
This course offers opportunities for students to develop their creative skills while completing a variety of projects. The projects vary depending on student interests and abilities. Students will be introduced to basic hand sewing and clothing construction techniques, simple alterations, elements of designs and forms of embellishment. Emphasis in this course if placed on hands-on practical sewing and not theory
