The Music and Theatre programs at L.V. Rogers are active throughout the year, producing several presentations each semester. Together they usually host two or three L.V.R. Presents which highlight both curricular and extra-curricular student work.
The theatre department takes part in two festivals each year. The Kootenay Regional Drama Festival takes place during the winter and is a festival of one act plays that can lead to performing at the Provincial Drama Festival later in the year.
The Goodwill Shakespeare Festival, held in Summerland, B.C. every May, is a province wide celebration of the Bard and his work. L.V.R. has attended every Shakespeare festival since its inception, producing versions of Loves Labours Lost, Pericles, and our original work, Blood, Lust, and Rhetoric. This years play will be The Life And Death Of King John
The Theatre Deparment also sponsors the annual Destination Imagination teams that compete both regionally and provincially. Last years team came in third in the province, and this years teams hope to better that performance.
