Please find below the guidelines and protocols for the 2021 Cap and Gown Ceremony on Thursday, June 10 and Friday, June 11, as well as the procedure for the formalwear photos on Saturday, June 12.
All protocols and guidelines must be followed.
Cap and Gown Protocols and Guidelines for Thursday, June 10 and Friday, June 11:
Each graduating student is entitled to 4 guests maximum (children under 12 who require supervision are not included in the 4 guests)
Arrive in the parking lot and stay in your vehicle until five minutes before your scheduled graduation time
All graduates and guests must wear a mask once they enter the queue
Graduate and their guests must stay in their pod (graduate plus maximum four guests)
All pods must maintain physical distancing of 2m between pods (stay on the marked path)
At the end of the ceremony, follow the exit route and proceed directly to your vehicle
Graduates may return to class following their graduation, using their assigned entry door
Formalwear Photo Procedures and Guidelines for Saturday, June 12:
Each graduate is to arrive five minutes before their photo
Only the graduate is to be in attendance and in the line for the photo
Graduates will be directed to one of two lines
Graduates are to remain masked until directed to remove mask for the picture
After the photo, students must exit campus immediately
A reminder that school is still in session during the graduation ceremonies, and all visitors are required to follow the guidelines listed and stay to the designated area.
The Provincial Health Orders for Graduation Ceremonies (https://www2.gov.bc.ca/assets/gov/education/administration/kindergarten-to-grade-12/safe-caring-orderly/covid-grad-ceremonies.pdf) state that gathering and crowding must be prevented at all times, in the school and on the school grounds. We appreciate your support in making these two grad activities possible by following the guidelines.
