Kootenay Bombers Silver Medal at Nationals

The Kootenay Bombers club volleyball team placed 2nd in their division in the tier 1 final at the 18U Youth Nationals in Calgary May 19-22!

The Condors from Québec defeated the Bombers in 3 games. In the Gold Medal Game, the Condors defeated Bombers with a score 15-11.

The Bombers were undefeated in their pool playing 2 teams from Alberta ( DCV Smash and Southwest Central Fire) and CBC Falcons from Newfoundland on the opening day.



The next day, teams were put into 6 power pools where the Bombers went undefeated against a different club from from Newfoundland, (The Loopers) Black Gold from Alberta, and then Central Valley Chaos from Saskatchewan, which earned them a Bye to the tier 1 semi- finals on Saturday against DCV Smash. They managed to squeak out the win with scores of 21-25, 25-22 and 15-9 to make it to the tier 1 finals in their division where they won a silver medal.

Congratulations to all of the players and a special farewell to the grade 12 players …Olivia Bezaire, Abby Ens, Hannah McClure, Sedona Shuel, and Gevyn Hlookoff!
