Low fee counselling for youth

Summit Psychology is now offering low-fee counselling services, available both in person and virtually. We understand that many students might need support but may face financial barriers to accessing mental health services, and our new program aims to address this by offering high-quality counselling at just $60 per hour. This could be especially helpful for students whose benefits have run out or who don't have extended coverage.

We would like to introduce you to our two intern counsellors:

Heather brings compassion, academic excellence, and authenticity to her role as an intern counsellor. With a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Victoria and currently completing her Master of Counselling at City University, Seattle, Heather combines knowledge with a genuine passion for helping others. Central to Heather's practice is the belief that people are not defined by their problems. She helps clients view challenges from new perspectives, uncovering the stories that shape their identity and exploring the core of what truly matters to them. Heather creates a safe, non-judgmental space where clients can explore thoughts and emotions at their own pace. She offers low-fee counselling services under the supervision of Dr. Helen Peel (Registered Psychologist) and Julia Gerlitz (Registered Clinical Counsellor).

Brook has a Bachelor of Science in Psychology: Brain and Cognition from the University of Guelph. She has been an integral part of our assessment team at Summit for 1 year, providing excellent quality standardized testing and informed consent services while simultaneously completing her Masters degree in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. Our clients appreciate her warm welcome and her skilled and kind approach. We are delighted to have her now join our clinical team as an intern. She will be providing low-fee counselling services under the direct supervision of Robin Swift (Registered Psychologist). Brook applies her considerable skills with diligence and compassion to everything she does.

Heather and Brook are prepared to support your students with a wide range of issues, including depression, anxiety, grief, emotion management, social skills, goal achievement, building resilience, and managing unhelpful thoughts.
