LV Rogers, in collaboration with Karen and Chuck Bennett and the LVR girls soccer team, hosted "Start the Conversation" - An assembly presentation and wellness fair featuring guest Key Note speaker Victoria Maxwell as well as guest speakers from The Foundry.

LVR students in grades 10-12 as well as grade 9 students from Trafalgar Middle School attended the first presentation and wellness fair on the afternoon of May 9th in the LVR School gymnasium. Students who attended the afternoon event, heard first from speaker and performer, Victoria Maxwell, who shared her story about her own struggles with mental health. Students then heard from presenters from The Foundry - an online portal that provides mental health resources to young people across the province. 

The assembly was followed by a wellness fair where students could access mental health resources and speak with professionals about any questions they may have. 

In the evening of May 9th, a similar event was hosted for Nelson community members. The evening event was well attended, with over 300 guests. All ticket sales went toward the LVR Girls Soccer team.
