LVR Weekly Update - April 12th2026

Hello LVR families,
 

I hope that you are finding ways to enjoy this rainy weekend. A reminder that there is NO SCHOOL on Monday, April 13th due to the District Professional Development day. We have our monthly PAC meeting on Wednesday, April 15th starting at 6:30pm; I hope to see you there! The end of Term 3 at LV is Friday, April 17th. Term 3 report cards will be posted to the MyEd family portal on April 30th.

 

Wednesday and Thursday next week, that’s April 22nd and 23rd, are early dismissal days. Students will be dismissed an hour early at 2:10pm. Buses will also be an hour earlier than their usual pick up times, so please plan accordingly.  


Speaking of buses, Bus registrations for the 2026 - 2027 school year are now open! 2026/27 School Bus Registration Deadline: June 12, 2026. 

Applications received after the deadline will be considered only if space is available on routes as scheduled. All students requesting SD8 school busing privileges MUST register annually.

Auditions for the grad talent show will continue this week on Wednesday, April 15th at lunch. If you have a talent to share, please consider auditioning! More information can be found on the poster attached below:

 All things Fine Arts:

  • The LVR Band is performing at the Kootenay Festival of the Arts today and then heading off to Kelowna next weekend for a jazz festival. Both are adjudicated by professionals and give our students chance to share out their work with other music students around BC. 
  • Dance - Mother's Day flower fundraiser is on. Order baskets for Mother's Day and support the Dance Program. 
  • The Theatre Production Team is working madly on a world renowned play She Kills Monsters - performed at the Capitol Theatre June 9th at 7 pm.

 

Coming up at LV:

If students have not completed their course selection for the 2026 - 2027 school year, they can still complete it this week by connecting with our school counselors or Mr. Wyllie or Mr. Cooper at the office.

  • Easter Stat - April 3rd - 6th - No school this Friday or on Monday.
  • Monday April 13th - District Pro - D day - No School
  • Our next PAC meeting is Wednesday, April 15th at 6:30pm. 
  • Friday, April 17th - End of Term 3
  • April 22nd - 23rd - Early Dismissal
  • April 28th - Digital education workshop for parents
  • April 30th - Term 3 reports posted to the MyEd Family Portal 
  • Get your new LVR Grizzlies t-shirts, hoodies, and sweatshirts, on sale through the Rec Leadership class & the LVR office.
