Hello LVR families,

Lots of little events winding down, but also ramping up for the last few weeks of the school year at LV!

Grads and Grad families:

I will send a separate email to all of you, but in case you miss it, please note a couple of things regarding our Cap and Gown at the NDCC. Remember, our rehearsal is this Thursday, June 11th at 3:30pm at the NDCC. Be there!
Also, Please plan to arrive at the NDCC ready to go, i.e. hair, makeup, etc. all done, at 6:15pm on June 12th.
Also Also, We will not be handing out tickets for families. With room for approximately 1800 people to attend, it will be first come / first served with priority seating on the ice surface for VIPs, staff, and those with mobility issues.
Finally, we will NOT have the concession open during the Cap and Gown ceremony. Families, please plan to bring water with you as necessary.

Our amazing Rec Leadership class raised $250 raised during our “Soak the Staff” event that will be donated to Aimee Beaulieu women's Transition House.

A quick FYI for your lunchtime planning - the last pizza Friday will be this week - Friday,  June 12th.

LVR athletic teams have had an amazing Spring! Here are just a few of the highlights

  • Congrats to our Sr. Girls' Soccer team who placed 14th at the Provincials in Kamloops this past week.  A huge thank you to Arran Wilkin for being the teacher-sponsor and taking time away from his family to support our team.
  • Great work to our Sr. Girls' Rugby team who travelled to Abbotsford for the Provincials.  They battled hard and showed some serious toughness in a tournament that has all the tiers combined into one (3A/2A).  Thank you to Naomi Legg and Rick Boutilier for all of their efforts in supporting our amazing athletes and rugby program.
  • Good luck to our speediest Grizzlies this upcoming weekend at the Track & Field Provincials on the coast.  We will have 3 of our fastest Grizz vying for provincial glory.  Thank you to Dawson Parnell for his support during this season.
  • Our Tennis team had their final "Blue vs White" tournament this past Friday.  It has been inspiring to see this team grow over the years.  A massive shoutout to Mike Vissers for leading the charge with this team!
  • Our Golf season has wrapped up, with a variety of Grizz golfers dominating the local courses. Thank you to Chris Chambers for navigating your busy family life to give our golfers this opportunity.
  • And a final much-deserved thank you to our Athletic Director, Ryan MacKinnon, for his dedication and the countless hours spent helping our athletes compete, and thrive in their chosen sports. Thank you Ryan!

LV Rogers is hosting another digital media awareness information session at the LVR library on June 16th from 7:00 - 8:30pm.
