Weekly Update - 20May23

Good May Long Weekend out there, LVR Community.

Thank to Mr. Munby for inviting me in this past week to participate in the Anatomy & Physiology (Biology) 12 Gallery Walk of student-developed projects.  Each presenter got to teach fellow LVR students, adults, and Hume Elementary students through explanations, games, demonstrations, and assessments about various aspects of this course - and I got great refreshers on DNA, endoplasmic reticulum, enzymes, and types of tissues in the human body.

Thank you also to Rec Leadership students, Mr. McComb, Mr. MacKinnon, Ms. Wayling, and Mr. Good for the LVR Spirit Week activities.  Great to see the positive energy and high involvement across the school! 

Congratulations to our LVR girls' soccer team & girls rugby team for qualifying for provincials in Victoria and the Lower Mainland in the coming weeks!

  • Grad Fees - now overdue

    • $50, were due on May 15.
    • Does not include grad hoodie or grad yearbook.  
    • Payment via LVR website make a payment tool - https://lvr.sd8.bc.ca/pay - select "Other Fees" for Fee Type an type "Grad Fees" in the Description box OR by paying at the office during school hours.  
    • If you require financial assistance, please contact Mr. Rude.

  • Grad Weekend Events

    • Cap & Gown Dress Rehearsal for all Grads - Thursday, June 8 at 3:30

    • Cap & Gown Ceremony - school organized - Friday, June 9 at 7:00 in the LVR Gym.  Each grad will have six tickets available for guests.  PICK UP NOW OVDERDUE - May 15-19.

    • Cavalcade - parent group organized - Saturday, June 10 at 3:00

      • Gr. 11 Parent Volunteering - LVR has a tradition of grade 11 parents volunteering for the cavalcade so that grade 12 parents can enjoy the event.  Sign up at https://volunteersignup.org/FDMJ9

    • Grand March down Baker Street - parent group organized - Saturday, June 10 following Cavalcade

    • Gala at Prestige - parent group organized - Saturday, June 10 at 6:30

  • Bottle Returns: Take your empties to the bottle depot and donate your return to LVR Grad 2023.

  • 50/50 Raffle tickets NOW SOLD OUT!
