Weekly Update - 22Apr23
Good day out there, LVR Community.
The LV Rogers Jazz Band participated in the BC Interior Jazz Festival held April 15 and 16 in Kelowna. The Band performed in the Kelowna festival and received a Silver Rating in their class category! In addition to performing and receiving this great award, students received valuable adjudication feedback from professional jazz educators and performers. The festival also offered students an excellent learning experience, as they had the opportunity to observe a variety of both student and professional jazz ensembles. Overall, it was an incredible opportunity for students to experience jazz music in a large city setting. Students then continued on to perform at the Kootenay Festival of the Arts at JL Crowe in Trail on April 17th.
Big shout out to the LV Rogers band students and their fabulous conductor, Ms. Jennifer Matosevic!

Nelson Tennis Club - One of the Nelson Tennis Club’s important goals is inclusivity and equal opportunity to enjoy our fun sports. This season, with the support of the Nelson Lions Club and the Nelson District Credit Union, NTC is piloting a bursary program to subsidize individuals and families that are keen to play but inhibited in doing so by financial hardship. Please take a moment to think of someone that would benefit and refer them to www.nelsontennisclub.com to complete a brief and confidential on-line application. Tennis membership and PB season pass subsidies are limited in number and issued on a first-come basis, so folks are encouraged to act promptly. Thanks for helping make our facility an even better place. - Keith Bridger, President - Nelson Tennis Club & Simone Simpson - 647-967-4744.
