Good day out there, LVR Community.

Thank you to Naomi Legg for organizing and leading yesterday's full school assembly in honour of the National Day for Truth & Reconciliation and to Elder Rick Desautel for being our guest speaker and sharing some of his story.  Naomi re-taught us the Indigenous greetings that are now on the Welcome to Nelson signs, and shared with us information on the United Nations Declarations on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples and progress being made on Truth & Reconciliation Commission Calls to Action.

The end of September comes with a big 'Whew!' in BC school administration, as September 30th is always an important date in BC Education in finalizing our enrollment submission for the current school year.  This part of our work behind the scenes takes a lot of time and follow up in the openinng weeks, and means some projects have to be put on hold until we get through September.  We appreciate the many great ideas that have come our way to start this year and your patience for those that we have not yet been able to get to.  Onward!
