School District No. 8 (Kootenay Lake) announced the election by acclamation of a new chair and vice-chair of the Board of Education at the inaugural board meeting held in Nelson, B.C., on November 14. School Trustee Dawn Lang was elected uncontested as the new chair, moving into the role after serving one year as vice-chair.

The LVR Comparative Cultures 12 class recently took a field trip to the Doukabour Museum in Castlegar. The students experienced many eye opening moments about historical events and systemic racism, as reported by their teacher Mr. Wooldridge.  He said, "We had an excellent guide and some invigorating conversations about immigration through history."

LV Rogers, in collaboration with Karen and Chuck Bennett and the LVR girls soccer team, hosted "Start the Conversation" - An assembly presentation and wellness fair featuring guest Key Note speaker Victoria Maxwell as well as guest speakers from The Foundry.
