You've Received a Scholarship - What Are the Next Steps?

Thanking your Community Sponsors

Congratulations on receiving a scholarship or bursary for your future studies or career!
Here are some next steps regarding thanking sponsors.

The Nelson community and West Kootenay region has provided some incredible
scholarship and bursary opportunities for LVRogers graduates. Please consider
showing your gratitude by sending your appreciation to your sponsor or scholarship
committee and joining our thank you photo and letter writing lunch.

Where:

Friday, June 19th at 11:30-12:10 group photo & thank you letter writing. Please arrive by
11:35 at the flagpole for a photo and after this, we will go to the library  to meet with some community members and write thank you cards.

What:

Handwritten cards (if your writing is legible) are a nice touch to thank your sponsor or you can create a thank you letter using a word document.

Consider dropping off the card or letter personally with the community member or mailing or emailing them.

You could in your letter share the following.

   ● Why you chose to study at the university or college or trade school you are
planning to attend and details about the school or program your academic goals
or career aspirations
   ● How the funds helped relieve financial pressure or reduce your debt and will help
you achieve career or academic success
   ● Your appreciation to them for taking the time to read you application, choosing
you and any relevant personal information that you wish to share about yourself
